Crazy carbonfibre bike

Good afternoon, this is Toronto calling. It's super humid and hot today - around 30, but with the humidity it feels like 40. Unfortunately I can't hang at the beach and enjoy it cause I'm working (or maybe I'm lucky cause the heat's kind of crazy). It's great though to not have to worry about being cold days like this.

Last week when I was working it came in a sales rep from Louis Garneau (cycling brand) and he ended up offering me to borrow one of his road bikes to go riding with his cycling club in the weekend. I was thrilled by his offer and a couple of days later he came by the store again to deliver the bike. OH. MY. GOD. Whaaat a bike. It's made from carbonfibre so it weighs like nothing. Apperently he bought it for $3000, which is about 20 000 kr. Good god, I felt kind of scared riding that bike back home. I walked with it for a while at first just because I didn't really dare to actually sit on it. SO EXPENSIVE!! However, I tried it - gosh - it felt like I was flying. After been biking on an old and super heavy mountainbike for 3 months this really was like flying.

On Saturday I met up with the people from the cycling club at 7:00 am (among them my friends Courtney and Christophe). We went up north to a place called Unionville and back. It was so much fun riding with them. I had a great time! I was unsure before the ride if I would be able to keep up with them, so I was a bit surprised that I managed. I have never been riding on a bike like that or in a group with other cyclists so this was a very nice and fun experience for me.

This morning I went up even earlier for another bike ride with my friend Christophe. This time we started 05.45 am. We had a really nice ride and the weather was great. We rode for 1 h 45 min, so I came back around 7.30. Felt great to have done it so early and have the whole day left.

Today I'm bringing back the bike shoes that Kasia let me borrow and soon the guy from Louis Garneau will come back and pick the bike up. I don't wanna leave this bike! Seriously, we're attached to each other now, me and the bike. I wont leave it. It will be pretty hard to go back to the old mountain bike after this. Oh well, I'm so glad I got the chance to try how it CAN feel like. Maybe I'll get one when I'm rich.

I'll post a picture of it later!
